Working my way around the ridges to find a path through.

Working my way around the ridges to find a path through.

This mornings flight was a lot of work. There was lots of low cloud covering the escarpment, but it was broken up enough that it looked possible to give it a try. I ended up having to work my way through the mountains, staying below the cloud and above the ridges. It’s a process of trying to find a way through. I tried a number of directions, and kept finding the could too low over the mountain passes. I was ready to turn around and head home when I found another way. I ended up routing pretty far south of my planned route, but found a way though, and made it safely to my destination. It took me an hour to get there, rather than the normal 35 minutes. But as the morning wore on, the clouds lifted, and the rest of the flight went pretty much as planned.

Usually on Mondays we take the doctor team out to the mountains where they work at different village clinics every week. Today, two of the three doctors were not able to make it. But I took out the one doctor and tomorrow will move him from one clinic to another.
I also had a patient, pastor and nurse pickup on my flights today.
